Was lucky to have tickets for one of their tiny gigs in the back room so decided to make a night of it with dinner and drinks too.
First time there and first trying vegan food but it definitely won’t be the last! Staff were so friendly and helped us with the menu which is made up of small dishes. Absolutely delicious food, really unusual dishes and good range of drinks to go with it. The place itself is really quirky, lots to look at and the cakes look fab too.
Just a brilliant night from start to finish. Thanks so much Glad Cafe Team!
Very cool venue, a community focused business. There’s plenty of seating for coffee, food or to buckle down with a laptop to do work.
The menu is always changing as they feature different chefs for a period of time. Kind of like a “pop up” style. At the moment they have a Syrian menu for breakfast lunch and “pop up” Babu Kitchen for dinner.
I went in for lunch and we had a fantastic Syrian vegetable stew with rice, and eggs with tomato sauce and flatbread. They were simple to the eye, but the flavours made me go “wow”!
Also had American coffees that were really good, they’re made with less water and had a lovely crema. I would recommend them.
If I had room in my stomach I would have gone for the vegan Oreo cake, it looked great.
Make sure you come to Glad Cafe more than once to enjoy it’s many talents - breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks, and a gig.
Happy 6th Birthday, Glad Cafe!
We started off with the BBQ pulled pork nachos and fried okra. For a starter, the portion of nachos resembled a main meal (not that we were complaining!) and were simply delicious. The nachos were topped with pulled pork, sour cream, salsa, guacamole and jalapeños and immediately, our first thought was that they’d be a perfect starter or sharing plate for Buddy’s new restaurant.
